Ex Vivo marks a strong departure from 2001's CHI-TAPE, a collage-work based on snippets from the airwaves of Chicagoland. By contrast, Ex Vivo consists of computer-based compositions with moods that vary from whimsical to grim, and a variety of textures and techniques.

Meri von KleinSmid has created sound art and experimental music using a variety of techniques and sources, which have included collage and computer-manipulated electronic compositions. Her often quirky work has been described as stunning, uniquely expansive, sparse, and frightening.

Hier werden Produktionen aus Archiven der Elektroakustischen Musik, wie z.B. dem Archiv der DEGEM oder dem IDEAMA- und dem DEGEM-Archiv des ZKM, dem Archiv des elektronischen Studios der TU Berlin sowie anderen internationalen Archiven und Dokumentationen elektroakustischer Kunst unter verschiedenen Aspekten präsentiert.
