"My name is John Dack and I am a Senior Research Fellow at the Lansdown Centre for Electronic Arts at Middlesex University in London. In this programme I am very pleased to present four compositions by the British composer Pete Stollery. Pete Stollery is Professor in Composition and Electroacoustic Music at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. Scotland has a distinct educational system from the rest of the United Kingdom and the University of Aberdeen (which was established in 1495) is the third oldest university in Scotland preceded only by the universities of St Andrews and Glasgow. As a result, Pete Stollery works within an institution that is steeped in history even though his own musical language is almost entirely dependent on contemporary technological mediation. Thus his output includes not only electroacoustic compositions but also multimedia pieces, often in collaboration with other artists." (excerpt of the feature)
