Laptop pioneer and New York downtown cult figure, Ikue Mori is one of the most important musicians working in the field of electronics. Her highly unique sound world is known and respected by musicians everywhere. This newest solo recording, created expressly for the Tzadik Women's series is a startling and mysterious tribute inspired by the work of visionary artist Madge Gill, who channeled her spirit guide Myrninerest in thousands of drawings, paintings and knit pieces from 1918-1961. Sensitive and powerful, this is one of Ikue's most personal and spiritual creations.
